There are some fun things in the planning for Summer of 2011! I will be teaching way far up North in Sweden the week before Midsummer at a fascinating place in the middle of nature, called Vasikkavuoma outside the city of Pajala.  I visited this place last year and a reindeer with huge antlers walked by the car. Incredibly beautiful. A good sign for coming back again this summer. You are welcome to join us!

Cecilia De Rico is an actress and a coach. She is a graduate from the National
Academy of Dramatic Arts in Stockholm Sweden. She studied voice
technique for Master vocal coach Mirka Yemendzakis in Athens, Greece,
and for Cecilia Berefeldt in Stockholm, Sweden. She began her career as
an actress in Sweden and worked on stage and for film/TV for 20 years
before she headed West to The United States. In America she has studied
voice with Catherine Fitzmaurice and affiliate teachers and learned more
about the Fitzmauirce Voice technique. Ariane Mnouchkine played a major
part in Cecilia’s understanding of the embodiment of voice, text,
rhythm, body, and mind. For this Cecilia trained at the Theatre Du
Soleil in Paris, France. Early on in her career Cecilia also recieved
training in Jerzy Grotowskis technique. In her work mrs. De Rico
implements principles of physical presence, awareness and movement from
different kinds of body work like cranio sacral therapy and Structural
Integration. She is as well a practitioner of qi gong, how to move the
energy in the body. Cecilia is working with on camera training on a
regular basis with Karen Armstrong, producer and casting director in
Hollywood. In 2005 Cecilia started De Rico Voice Acting Studio in
Hollywood training American and International actors. In 2009 she was
invited by The Studio Inc. to teach “Presence on Film” in Munich and
Berlin. She has held workshops in her native Sweden since 2009 for
different theatre companies and opera companies. Summer of 2011 she
teaches at Tornedalsteatern and the Midsummer Festival in Pajala,
Sweden. Workshops in Scandinavia are in the planning for 2011.
She resumes her classes in L.A. in fall.
